CURRENT ISSUES & EVENTS PRACTICE PACKETS, writtten by Fred Grindle, provide a practical and easy way to challenge and broaden your students' knowledge of current issues and events. CI&E Practice Packets are formatted to simulate real invitational tests and may be administered by an instructor in a group/team setting, or, they may be sent home with students for individual practice.
Each CI&E Practice Packet includes:
FAQ: PACKET 1 vs. PACKET 2 - What's the difference?
Practice Packet 1, which is available in fall (at the beginning of the school year) is written over the summer months before; Practice Packet 2 is available in January (at the start of the spring semester). Practice Packet 2 is comprised of actual UIL tests that were used at practice meets during the Fall, whereas tests in Practice Packet 1 have never been used in UIL invitational meets.
TAPPS/PSIA: Although CI&E Practice Packets are recommended for UIL study, if you are with TAPPS or PSIA and looking for tests for your practice meets, CI&E Practice Packets may be ideal for this purpose. Please note, however, that the time allotted on TAPPS and PSIA tests differ from UIL and the point values on LitCrit tests varies (see your competition guidelines for details).
