Social Studies Notes contains an outline of the new primary resource, The Penguin History of Latin America, a 500-page college-level book covering over 500 years of Latin American history. This year’s Notes also contains a review and summary of the assigned State Department information, CIA Information, and comprehensive timelines and maps of each of the 10 need-to-know countries. By encapsulating one of the most lengthy and difficult readings in the contest thus far, students can spend more time studying while coaches can assimilate periods of time and concepts more quickly. This book also includes a glossary of terms collected by our research team; a lengthy collection of people, places, and events alphabetized with descriptions for each. This is the 9^th edition of our didactic publication for honing skills in analyzing the document selections and context of the period covered by the UIL contest.
