This short sampler for our VocabularyMentor software program shows how the program works. This sampler is the same program format used for all of our Spelling Mentors, including the annual Spelling Mentor for National Spelling Bee, VerboMentor, and just added, New Nat's Mentor. Students hear the word pronounced correctly, see a definition, part of speech, and the phonetic pronunciation. They then type in their attempt and the program keeps track of their errors and successes. Spellers may choose to just study the words that were missed in their last session or choose to study complete sets. Sets are arranged in difficulty sequence so that students learn more basic words before progressing to the difficult ones. Students work at their own pace and may repeat any set at any time. The program is extremely simple to understand so that even the youngest speller may use it with very little assistance.
