This engaging program was co-authored with Don Skow,
long-time Contest Director for UIL Number Sense and
Mathematics. Designed in a self-paced, tutorial format
to teach students math short cuts and skills. Well over 50
mental "tricks", or short cuts, are presented with careful
explanations of the workings of the skill and with
exercises for each that have complete step-by step
explanations. In addition, each element allows a student
unlimited testing by generating problems of the same ilk
for that student. Mental Math Notes
is a collection of all the explanations of the multitude
of skills covered with thorough expanations as shown in
the software. This can be used as a stand-alone study aid,
or it can be used to accompany the software.
An Extended Usage License is
optional, and this allows up to 5 team members to install
the software on their home computers for the current
school year. This must be reactivated annually to
continue to allow students to install the software on
their home computers.
